  1. Restart your Mac and hold down Command + R keys simultaneously to enter Recovery Mode.

  3. Type 'resetpassword' (without quotes) in the Terminal window and hit Enter.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to select the drive that contains your user account.
  5. Choose your username and enter a new password. Click Save to save the changes.
