What is a One Time Password?
A One Time Password (OTP) is a security feature that provides a unique password for each login or transaction, ensuring an additional layer of protection beyond regular passwords. It is typically valid for only one login session or transaction, hence the name 'one time password'.
OTP is commonly used in online banking, two-factor authentication, and other sensitive accounts to prevent unauthorized access. The OTP is usually sent to the user via SMS, email, or through a dedicated authenticator app.
By using OTP, even if someone manages to steal your regular password, they would still need the unique OTP to gain access to your account. This greatly enhances security and reduces the risk of unauthorized access or identity theft.
What is the password problem?
The password problem refers to the challenges and vulnerabilities associated with creating, managing, and securing passwords, which often leads to weak or reused passwords and increased security risks.
