If you have saved a password in Google Chrome but forgot what it was, or if you are trying to access a website on a different device and need the password, knowing how to view hidden passwords can be handy.
Steps to View Hidden Password in Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome and go to the website for which you want to view the password.
- Right-click on the password field and select 'Inspect'.
- In the Elements tab that opens, look for the line of code that says <input type='password'>.
- Double-click on the word 'password' and change it to 'text'.
- Your password will now be visible in plain text in the password field.
Remember to change the 'text' back to 'password' after viewing the password to keep it secure.
Protecting Your Passwords
While it can be useful to view hidden passwords when necessary, it is important to remember the risks involved. Always ensure that you are on a secure device and network when viewing passwords, and try to use a reliable password manager to securely store and manage your passwords.
