How to Retrieve a Saved WiFi Password

One common scenario we all face is forgetting the password to our saved WiFi network. It happens to the best of us, but don’t worry, there are ways to retrieve a saved WiFi password on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices.

How to Find Saved WiFi Passwords:

For Windows:

  1. Open the Control Panel and navigate to Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Click on the name of your WiFi network and select 'Wireless Properties'.
  3. Go to the Security tab and check the box that says 'Show characters' to reveal the password.

For Mac:

  1. Go to Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.
  2. Search for your WiFi network name in the search bar.
  3. Double-click on the network name and check the box next to 'Show password'.

For Android:

  1. Root access is required to view saved WiFi passwords on Android.
  2. Download a file explorer app with root access and navigate to /data/misc/wifi folder.
  3. Open the wpa_supplicant.conf file to find the saved WiFi passwords.

For iOS:

  1. Unfortunately, iOS does not allow users to view saved WiFi passwords due to security reasons.
  2. You can reset the network settings if you need to reconnect to a network and don’t remember the password.
