How to Retrieve Password for Catalyst 2950 Switch

If you have forgotten the password for your Catalyst 2950 switch, there are few methods you can try to reset it. The default username and password for Cisco Catalyst switches are usually 'cisco' and 'cisco'.

Method 1: Password Recovery Procedure

1. Connect to the console port of the switch using a console cable.

2. Power cycle the switch and press Ctrl+Break during the boot process to enter ROMMON mode.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter password recovery mode.
