Resetting Administrator Password in Fedora VMware Virtual Machine

If you have forgotten the administrator password for your Fedora VM running on VMware, there are several methods you can try to regain access to your virtual machine.

Method 1: Using the VMware Tools

1. Open VMware and select the Fedora VM.

2. Click on VM in the menu bar and select Guest > Send Ctrl+Alt+Del.

3. This will send the Ctrl+Alt+Del command to the virtual machine, allowing you to reset the password.

Method 2: Using the Single-User Mode

1. Start the VM and interrupt the boot process by pressing 'e' when the GRUB menu appears.

2. Add 'single' to the end of the kernel line and press Ctrl+X to boot into single-user mode.

3. Once in single-user mode, you can change the password using the 'passwd' command.

Method 3: Using a Live CD

1. Boot the VM using a Fedora Live CD or ISO image.

2. Mount the VM's disk and edit the password file to reset the administrator password.

3. Reboot the VM and log in with the new password.

By following these methods, you can regain access to your Fedora VMware virtual machine even if you have forgotten the administrator password.
