Enabling Secret Password in Packet Tracer
If you want to enhance the security of your network simulation in Cisco Packet Tracer by setting up a secret password, follow these steps:
- Open Packet Tracer and load your network scenario.
- Select the device (router or switch) for which you want to set the secret password.
- Go to the device configuration by double-clicking on it.
- Locate the console port settings and enter the command:
enable secret yourpassword
- Save the configuration by using the command:
write memory
orcopy running-config startup-config
- Now, your device will prompt for the secret password whenever you try to access it.
