Creating a Password Protected Zip File
If you want to safeguard your files or communications, creating a password-protected ZIP archive is a simple yet effective way to add an extra layer of security. Follow these steps:
- Open the File Explorer on your computer.
- Locate the file or folder you want to compress and password protect.
- Right-click on the file or folder, hover over 'Send to', then click on 'Compressed (zipped) folder'.
- Once the ZIP file is created, double-click on it.
- In the top menu, click on 'File' and then select 'Add a password'.
- Enter your desired password and confirm it. Click 'OK'.
- Your ZIP file is now password protected!
Remember to use a strong, unique password to enhance the security of your files. Avoid using easily guessable passwords such as '123456' or 'password'.
